Building Access
How to Get an ACCESS Card during the University Center Closure.
Students
Send an email to ucen-access@ucsb.edu requesting the card. Please include your perm #. There is a $30 lost card fee replacement that will be charged to your BARC account. You may pick up your card anytime between 11am-4pm M-F at the UCen Post Office the next day (access through the lower level facing the lagoon). You will need to show a photo ID when you pick up your card.
Staff / Faculty / Visitor
Send an email to ucen-access@ucsb.edu requesting the card. Include a picture (jpeg) of the person needing a card plus a recharge form with the account # (From Amber) to be charged and we will send the card via campus mail. We are unable to accept cash or check at this time.
Steps for Undergraduate Researcher Approval and Access
- Faculty complete the UG Researcher Template and send to appropriate building committee Chair.
- Bio II and LSB – Rick Dahlquist
- Marine Biotech – Craig Carlson
- Faculty receive approval from the Dean’s office with the Undergraduate Research Commitment form.
- After Dean’s approval, faculty email the final Building Committee approval with student name and email.
- Student is sent Google WSSP and Covid Rules affirmation form.
- Students must affirm that they have read the WSSP - Work Site Safety Plan for Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology & NRI which includes links to the following requirements:
- Covid – 19 Risk Mitigation Presentation, aka Covid-19 Safety Presentation
- WSSP
- Students self-enroll for Covid screening questions
- The Building Committee sends final approval to faculty or lab manager, cc’s Amber Noelle.
- Amber Noelle authorizes student access to the labs and sends confirmations.
- Students are expected to have weekly Covid tests
Always ensure all researchers complete the EH&S Lab Safety Online.
